Explanation of term
Internal names are unique values required for data exchange with external systems. They enable clear identification and are often important for integration with interfaces or BI tools.
Configuration
Internal names can be defined in many places when creating an output value (e.g., a location, a rejection reason, or a role) in the section Additional information for external systems. If no internal name is manually assigned, the system automatically generates one based on the display name.
System behavior
- Internal Name
Internal names are assigned by the system. However, in many cases, you can define them yourself when creating an entry.
Examples- The permission Attachments (from applications) | download as original files has the internal name
SYS_ATTACHMENTS_DOWNLOAD_ORIGINAL_FILE
. - The screening question with the display name “Car available” is assigned the internal name
PKW_VORHANDEN
by the system.
- The permission Attachments (from applications) | download as original files has the internal name
- Renaming
Warning: If you rename internal names, this may cause existing interfaces or reports to stop functioning correctly. Ensure that these changes are also updated in all connected systems.
