Hiring requests have different statuses depending on how far along they are in the process. 

The status In progress means that the hiring request has been created and no approval process has been started or the approval process has been finished. Furthermore, the hiring request has not yet been closed via the button  Finish hiring request.

In the status In progress, the hiring request can be adjusted/changed.

You can also see the status of the hiring request by the symbol in front of the hiring request name.

If a hiring request is In progress and has already been approved, the list of hiring requests also contains a label with the word "Approved" next to the name of the hiring request.
