A little story...

Annette had an interview with the personnel manager Malte and both agreed. She has signed the contract at the new company and will start there in six weeks. The preboarding, the phase before the first day at work, was very quiet and Annette wonders „Do they still have me on their books?“. Malte, on the other hand, is annoyed that Annette's future team hasn't contacted her yet and asks himself who is actually responsible for the welcoming culture in the company.

So what to do?

So who is responsible for the onboarding of new employees? Is it purely an HR issue? Or is onboarding most valuable and successful for both sides when both HR and business are involved? The company is the onboardees' new home port and it is mainly in the specialist departments that the sails for a long-term and productive cooperation are set. Ultimately, it is in the interest of the manager and the team that new employees quickly feel comfortable and thus become productive.

In our workshop, we bring along a fully packed method case, in which the right method is also included for your specialist areas.

To give us all a better idea of the situation, we will ask ourselves a few questions - which we will be able to answer at the end of our workshop.

  • How would your onboardees judge an onboarding in which only HR is involved?
  • What kind of onboarding would your onboarders be satisfied with? With a team- or HR-centric one?
  • Wouldn't it be nice if your onboarders felt comfortable enough to become productive quickly?
  • What would make you unhappy within your own onboarding?
  • On a scale of 1-10, how important is the team to you at your new employer?
