Roles are authorization bundles and can be equipped as desired and added to or adapted again and again.
Exceptions to this are system roles. These cannot be changed. However, it is possible to copy them.


Caution

System roles cannot be changed or deleted. These are identified by  .

If you want to customize a system role, you can create a copy, make the changes there and assign this new role to the users. See the section: Copy roles

Change/customize roles

Do you need additional Permissions in a role because, for example, a recruiter cannot create publications? You can add new Permissions to roles at any time and also make other basic changes.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the page Roll.
  2. Click on the name of the role you want to change. The Role page with the details is displayed
  3. Click on the edit icon  . The input form is displayed.
  4. Fill in the input form with the changes. Possible changes are:

    • Name
    • User Role
    • Security Level
    • Permissions
    • Included Roles
    • Additional Information
      • Organizational Level
      • Internal Name
  5. Click on  Update to save the entries. The page Role with the details of the changed role is displayed.


Copy roles

All roles can be copied. Even system roles. This may be necessary in order to use their functionalities.
If you create a copy of a system role, you can make changes to it and then add it to another role as a contained role. Alternatively, you can add all your additions to the copied role. However, this may have to be done several times. The copy of the system role is less error-prone. (Line management (standard) and Human resources (standard) ) 


Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the page Roles.
  2. Click on the name of the role you want to copy. The page Role with the details is displayed.
  3. Click on the  Copy button. The Role page is displayed with a note about the successful copy and the status "Copy" after the name of the role
  4. Click on the edit icon  . An input form will be displayed
  5. Fill in the input form with the changes. Possible changes are:

    • Name
    • User Role
    • Security Level
    • Permissions
    • Included Roles
    • Additional Information
      • Organizational Level
      • Internal Name
  6. Click on  Update to save the entries. The page Role with the details of the changed role is displayed.

Caution

Deleted elements cannot be restored or viewed again. They are irrevocably deleted.


Delete: From the role overview

Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the page Roles.
  2. Click on the   icon behind the name of the role you want to delete. The window Delete role with the query as to whether you are sure is displayed in the foreground.
  3. Click on  Delete. The page Roles is displayed with an overview of all created roles and a note on deletion.


Delete: Out of the role

Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the page Roles.
  2. Click on the name of the role you want to delete. The Role page with the details is displayed.
  3. Click on the  Delete button. The window Delete role with the query as to whether you are sure is displayed in the foreground.
  4. Click on  Delete. The page Roles is displayed with an overview of all created roles and a note on deletion.
