Explanation of terms

You can switch d.vinci to any language available in your system.

English and German are standard options and always available. You can opt for further languages for a small fee.

We also gladly accept requests for introducing additional languages and will make you an appropriate offer. The introduction of a new language takes approx. 4-6 weeks from the date of commissioning.

Configuration

In Basic Settings, on the Language tab, you can set your primary language, additional languages, and mandatory languages.

Should you be missing one or more languages, you can order them from us. We will then expand the list of offered language for you in the license.

Behavior in the system

  • Additional languages

Your system is available to you in all the languages that you add as additional languages. English can be selected at all times.
All input forms can be maintained in the languages that you have set as additional languages.
Job publications can be created in the languages that you have set as additional languages.
  • Primary language

Languages of input forms and of data can be maintained at many places in the system. The primary language is the language that is listed first. Also, the primary language is the one that is displayed if the browser is set to a language that is not present in your d.vinci.
    Example:
You use the system with German and English language. German is set as your primary language. As soon as you create a new element, the display name in German is always displayed first, the display name in English is displayed directly below it. As soon as you set English as your primary language - you maintain the English display name first and the German one after that.
  • Mandatory language

If you set a language as mandatory in Basic Settings, you mus also enter a translation in the respective mandatory language for all forms and data that you create. This is to enable you to use the system fully in another language.
When selecting mandatory languages - except English - the missing translations in the mandatory language are displayed as list of links on the Basic Settings page, on the Languages tab. If a translation is missing, the display name must be entered in that language.

    Notice

Only by setting a language as mandatory will you see whether there are any translations missing in the system.

  • You can switch languages in your User information. By doing this, the system will be displayed to you in the selected language.
