Explanation of term
The URL path is required when creating an application portal to uniquely distinguish between the various application portals and to provide an address for the job postings.
Configuration
System behavior
- Structure
The URL path complements the address of the application portal with a specific element.
Example:
For the StepStone application portal, the URL might look like this:
https://kundenurl.dvinci-hr.com/p/stepstone
The URL path here is "stepstone". - Naming / Formatting
- A unique URL path must be entered for each application portal. If you choose an already existing URL path, an error message will notify you:
"An element with this name already exists." - It is recommended to name the URL path in a way that makes it clear what the application portal is used for.
Examples:
Application portal for StepStone - URL path: stepstone
Application portal for XING - URL path: xing
Application portal for the intranet - URL path: intranet - The following characters are allowed:
- A-Z (uppercase and lowercase letters)
- 0-9
- _ (underscore)
- A unique URL path must be entered for each application portal. If you choose an already existing URL path, an error message will notify you:
- Interface
The URL path is also part of the interfaces (JSON, XML, RSS) that you may communicate to service providers, job boards, etc.
Example:
https://kundenurl.dvinci-hr.com/portal/stepstone/jobPublication/list.json - Identify URL path
The URL path is displayed as the second column in the list of application portals. - Set source in portal URL
When filling out the application form, some applicants choose a source they find more appealing than the actual source. This can lead to distorted results when evaluating sources.
This can be counteracted by adding an additional parameter to the URL path.
See Set source in portal URL - Changes
The URL path can be changed, but we advise against it.
The URL path complements the URL of the application portal. Therefore, changing it will change the entire URL, and service providers or job boards that have received the URL from you will no longer be able to access it.
How our customers use this
