Definition of terms

Media are images that you can select in job publications.


Configuration

When you open the page Media and press +Create, you can create a new medium.

Behavior in the System

  • After Saving
    After creating a medium, you can view Display Name, Alternative Text, Type , and File . For File, you will find a Preview    of the image. Clicking on it opens it in full size. There is also a link   to the image if you press the icon  .
  • Renaming
    Media can be renamed at any time. The new name will be displayed immediately in the media selection in the publication. Please make sure your colleagues know which image to use for what purpose. 
  • Deletion
    Media can be deleted at any time. They will also disappear from the publication where they are currently in use. So it may happen that not the selected image from the publication, but one from the job advertisement template is displayed.  
  • Other Image Upload Options
    You can upload images in other parts of the system that are not managed in the media
    • A further panoramic image when editing and creating job advertisement templates.
    • A panoramic image for the confirmation page, which is displayed to the applicants after submitting the application. This is uploaded in the Confirmation Page tab of the application form. 
    • User photos  can be uploaded when creating or changing users. For example, for the responsible user of the advertisement, who is mentioned in the job advertisement and should appear there with a picture.
    • Application photos can be uploaded after creating the application  by pressing the symbol next to the name in the header of the application.
    • A company logo is uploaded when creating layouts.

  • Notes on Configuration

    • Display Name
      This should indicate the intended use of the image. It is not visible to applicants.
    • Alternative Text
      This is a short description of the image, read aloud by screen readers instead of the image. This way, people with visual impairments can understand the content of the image. So please describe the image accordingly.
    • Type
      The type determines the purpose of the image/where the image appears in the job advertisement.
      These are the selectable media types:
      • General Image
        Media of the type General Image are not available in selection fields. Each medium of this type has a unique fixed link that you can insert via the HTML editor to display the image.
      • Social Media Image
        For transmission to a social media platform, there is the type Social Media Image.
      • Job Advertisement Logo top-left
        This image is selectable in the corresponding place in the job advertisement template.
      • Job Advertisement Logo top-center
        This image is selectable in the corresponding place in the job advertisement template. 
      • Job Advertisement Logo top-right
        This image is selectable in the corresponding place in the job advertisement template. 
      • Job Advertisement Panoramic Image
        This is the only type available for the Job Advertisement Panoramic Image. 
      • Job Advertisement Logo bottom-center
      • This image is selectable in the corresponding place in the job advertisement template. 
      • Job Advertisement Logo bottom-right
        This image is selectable in the corresponding place in the job advertisement template. 
    • Organizational Unit
      The medium is only available in the publications of the respective organizational unit.
    • File
      Press the Filefield to upload a medium.
      • File Name
        The file name should be changed before upload so that it does not contain personal data such as employee names.
      • Allowed File Formats 
        • .jpg
        • .gif
        • .png
        • .svg
      • File Size
        The size is limited to 250 KB.
        For the Panoramic Image, the optimal size is 1920x456 pixels.


How our Customers Use This

Media are mainly used in job advertisements. The panoramic image is mostly used, but the Social Media Image  is also often used for publishing on Xing and other platforms.
