Explanation of terms
A valid e-mail address must be entered when creating a new user. An automatically generated password is sent to this e-mail address. When logging in for the first time, the user is prompted to create a new password.
Configuration
See Log in user
Behavior in the system
- Unless an automatic login via single sign-on takes place, d.vinci users are prompted to enter their user name and password to log in to the system.
- A new password must meet the following conditions:
- It has a minimum length of 8 characters.
- Contains at least one number, one letter and one special character.
- It must not correspond to the currently valid password.
- It has a minimum length of 8 characters.
- Passwords do not need to be changed regularly. We have exceptions for a few customers who have requested this. See: Password change requirement removed
How our customers use this
Many of our customers use the classic login method with username/password and leave the minimal password length as suggested here. However, there are also customers who require up to 16 characters as a password.
