Explanation of term
Reference is a configurable field in job openings that can be used to uniquely identify job openings. For example, when two job openings with the same title exist in the system.
Configuration
Through the field schema configuration in the job opening, the Reference field can be shown, hidden, defined as a mandatory field, and automatically generated.
System behavior
- Automatically generated reference
- When automatically assigned, numbering is done with the current year and a four-digit number. This number cannot be changed.
- Example for the first reference number in 2023: 2023-0001.
- If job openings with automatic reference number assignment are deleted, the reference number counter is not reset. The corresponding reference number will no longer be found in your d.vinci system.
- Manually assigned reference
- If the reference is not automatically assigned, you can set it manually. Both numbers and letters can be entered into the field. If you have an internal job naming system, it can be represented here.
- Manually assigned references can be changed at any time.
- External display
The reference can be selected as a placeholder in the job posting template and displayed to applicants in the job posting. - Filtering
In the application search and the job opening overview, you can filter by reference.
How our customers use this
When approving positions, a sequential number is often assigned for each position approved by the company. This number can be entered as a reference in the job opening to ensure clear identification.
