You can display the resulting job advertisement from an existing job publication as a preview to see how it appears on the application portal. A preview is possible both on a webpage and as a PDF. Many customers use this PDF, for example, for postings. Sometimes, it may look different than expected.
Read here to understand why and find possible solutions.
For general information on how to use the preview, see: Display job posting as preview or PDF
Technical information on how the PDF for the preview is generated:
- The screen layout is used
This means that backgrounds, etc., which you also see in the view on your application portal, are included. Print optimization in the layout does not affect the result. - The zoom factor is 75%
On screens, pixels are used, while on paper, points are used. The conversion depends on many factors, but px → 0.75pt works well. For example, if the font size on the homepage is 16px, a comparable font size in Word would be 12pt. - One page is printed
If necessary, the zoom factor is reduced in 1% increments until everything fits on one page or the zoom factor reaches 10%. - Some individual content is not displayed
Certain content you have displayed may be hidden. Buttons are hidden, as are iFrames with "youtube" as the source. Some cookie banners are also hidden, but not all. The content area is always stretched to 100%, which may cause the display to differ from the normal page. - Panorama images
If the image is very tall, a lot of space is lost. Therefore, the available space is limited to 9 cm. The image is cropped but still spans the full width. The image section is centered but slightly shifted upwards (usually towards the face). - Paper format
A4, borderless - Adjustments are limited
Only elements can be hidden. It is not possible to move or swap logos or text.
Error: Unable to generate PDF
For application portals with IP restrictions, an "Access not allowed" error may occur. The underlying issue has been resolved, but in rare cases, the corresponding portal may need to be saved again.
