Explanation of terms
Google for Jobs is a service integrated into Google's search page. It displays relevant job ads on the search results page in the Google for Jobs section based on the search term and location of the job seeker.
This section on the search results page is now found in a separate box and is titled: Job offers near xyz. By clicking on Job offers, job seekers are taken to a new page with more filtering and search options.
To have your job postings displayed at the top of the search results, it is necessary to understand the search intent of the talents and formulate the keywords accordingly.
Configuration
In the application portal, you can decide whether you want to report the jobs of the application portal to Google for Jobs.
Please refer to the attached whitepaper below for configuration instructions.
System behavior
- What Google needs
Google is very interested in displaying high-quality pages to users and has been rewarding good websites with comprehensive content on a topic with good placements on the search results page for years. The same applies to Google for Jobs. There are criteria that Google requires, without which the display of job postings in Google for Jobs becomes unlikely. Only when you have made the settings in your d.vinci will your job postings likely be displayed in Google for Jobs. Read our checklist (whitepaper attached below) on how to configure d.vinci for Google for Jobs. - Page title and short description in the job publication
In the publication, you have the option to fill in the fields for Page Title and Short Description. These are equivalent to the Page Title and Meta Description of a website, but for your job posting.
It is important that if you fill something in here, you have as unique texts as possible in the description and avoid duplications with other job postings. Google at least penalizes duplications.
With Google for Jobs, what you write here no longer appears in the search results once you have activated Google for Jobs.
However, other search engines like Bing still require Page Title and Short Description. It is also conceivable that job crawlers or job boards value this content.
You must decide whether you want to put in the effort to fill the fields in an SEO-compliant manner or neglect it. Please always consult your SEO experts. They have an overview of whether this is important for your website (in case of your own domain) and your search results. - A jab ad does not appear on Google?

Important Notes When Using Google for Jobs
- We can't guarantee anything
Job postings on Google for Jobs are not comparable to job postings you book on job boards. We cannot guarantee that your jobs will always be displayed on Google for Jobs. Google reserves the right to decide which sources are likely most relevant to potential applicants and whether they should be displayed.
If you can't find your jobs on Google at all, please check if you have followed all the settings on the checklist (whitepaper attached below). If a point is not fulfilled, Google may decide not to list the job postings. - Incorrect display
There may be errors in displaying your job postings as Google processes data inconsistently. For example, sometimes a paragraph is placed after the "Your Tasks" section and before the "Your Profile" section, and sometimes they are placed directly after each other. Sometimes benefits are listed, sometimes not. In our code, we always pass this data in the same way, yet there are errors on Google's side. We continuously work to optimize the display.
