Explanation of term
Filling in the Department field makes it easier to keep track of where exactly personnel needs exist within the company, in which department a specific job opening is assigned, and in which department users are located.
Configuration
Through the field schema configuration in the hiring request and the job opening, the Department field can be shown or hidden, or defined as a mandatory field. In user profiles, it can be filled with free text.
System behavior
- Where can the field be filled?
In the job opening, the hiring request, and the user, the Department field can be maintained. - Possible content
It is a free-text field where both letters and numbers can be entered. Manual input is always required. Departments cannot be stored centrally. - Placeholders
If the department is maintained in the job opening or user, it can be selected as a placeholder in the job publication template and displayed to applicants in the job advertisement. Additionally, it can be used as a placeholder in correspondence templates. - Filtering
In the overview of hiring request, users, and job openings, filtering by department is possible. For example, you can display all personnel requisitions with "Sales" as the department. - Renaming
The content of the field can be changed at any time. The update will be visible immediately in all places. - Deletion
The department entry can be deleted at any time. However, if it is used as a placeholder, a gap will appear in its place.
How our customers use this
The field is often used when additional details are needed to differentiate job openings, hiring requests, or users. Especially when names or designations are duplicated within the system.
