Explanation of terms
Locations have very different functions in the system, depending on whether they are Job Locations, Desired Job Locations, or Appointment Locations.
Configuration
Locations are maintained in the master data. When creating a location, you decide whether it is a Job Location, a Desired Job Location, and/or an Appointment Location. See: Create locations
System behavior
- Name
The value behind the Name field is only used for internal display within your d.vinci system. - External display of the name
You can define the external display via the External Name field. This allows you to clearly distinguish multiple branches/locations in one city. If you do not maintain an External Name, the value from the Name field will be used for external display. - Display on job boards
Job boards and others that retrieve locations from d.vinci will use the External Name for display if it is maintained. Without an external name, the value from the Name field will be used. - Number of locations
You can create as many locations as you like. - Locations upon delivery
- Hamburg
Job Location
Job Locations are the places you can select as the location in a job posting. These are the locations where the activity is performed for which you are seeking new personnel.
System behavior
- The address fieldsare only displayed after selecting a country. To ensure you can always provide the address in the appropriate format, we have linked the country selection to the corresponding address format. For countries without a specific address schema, five input fields are available for free use. These individual lines can be used as placeholders in correspondence templates or job postings. If you need a specific address format that is not yet available, please contact us.
- Additional address
- Street
- ZIP code, City
- The Job Location can be selected in the Hiring Request and in the job posting. Multiple values can be selected. Through the field schema configuration, the Job Location field can be shown or hidden and defined as a mandatory field.
- The Job Location can be used as a placeholder (Job Posting - Job Location) in job advertisement templates and correspondence templates.
- Filtering by Job Location is possible in the application search as well as in the application and job posting overview.
- An evaluation can take place, for example, via the Excel raw data report with the data Number of job postings.
- Data on locations can be evaluated via the Reporting API.
Desired Job Location
In the application form, the Desired Job Location field can be displayed. This is especially useful for applicants in unsolicited job postings or in job postings with multiple locations.
Read more about the benefits of the Desired Job Location here: Desired Job Location
System behavior
- The address fields are only displayed after selecting a country.
- Filtering by Desired Job Location is possible in the application search as well as in the application and job posting overview.
- Desired Job Locations can, if the field is displayed in the application form, allow applicants to apply for specific locations in unsolicited applications.
- An evaluation via the Excel raw data report is not possible.
Appointment Location
Appointment Locations are displayed as a selection when scheduling appointments.
System behavior
- The address fields are only displayed after selecting a country.
- The Appointment Location can be used as a placeholder (New Appointment - Location or Old Appointment - Location) in job advertisement templates and correspondence templates. Only the location is entered here. Using the placeholder New Appointment - Address (complete) or Old Appointment - Address (complete), the address information can be inserted.
- An evaluation is possible via the Excel raw data report with the data Number of appointments.
How our customers use this
Job Locations
Job Locations are the places where the activity is carried out. The address data is important for Google for Jobs, for example, so street, postal code, and city are also maintained here. Job Locations are often also Appointment Locations.
Desired Job Locations
Maintained only by customers who have posted unsolicited job postings and want to give applicants a way to indicate their local preference.
Appointment Locations
Appointment Locations are created to select locations when scheduling appointments and to provide applicants with different or more precise address information. Often, Appointment Locations are also Job Locations.
Name and External Name
Since the name is not visible externally, internal designations for a location, combinations with address data, or similar are entered here. In the field for the external name, the designation is chosen as applicants should read it in correspondence or in the job posting.
